What does attic insulation R-Value mean?

Before you buy, here is a quick lesson on the R-Value TASCO will discuss with you during our consulation. This information can be found on Energystar.gov.

R-Value is a technical term in our industry that measures the insulation’s ability to resist heat flow. Attic insulation in San Antonio is critical in winter months to keep heat in, and in summer months to keep heat out.

In short, the higher the R-Value your insulation is rated for, the better thermal performance your attic insulation will have.

EnergyStar.gov recommends at least you insulate to R-38, meaning about 10 to 14 inches. However, this is dependent on the insulation type you decide upon. Our experienced and knowledgeable professionals will help you balance your energy saving needs, budget, and attic insulation brand choices.
